Knit an oversized mohair sweater with broad bands of stone grey, off-white and warm light mink, finished with soft beige ribbing. The wide, shallow boat neck, dropped shoulders and full sleeves give this airy pullover an easy, relaxed drape.

Sizes and fit

Seven sizes: XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL and 3XL. Designed with approximately 20–30 cm / 8–12 in of positive ease. Choose by comparing the finished bust to your own measurement.

Finished bust circumference: 104 / 112 / 120 / 128 / 138 / 148 / 158 cm. Body length: 56 / 58 / 60 / 62 / 64 / 66 / 68 cm, in size order.

Pattern details

  • Skill level: advanced beginner.
  • Worked flat in four pieces and seamed. Front and back are worked from the hem upward; sleeves are worked from the wide top edge down to the cuffs.
  • Stockinette stitch, simple colour changes, gentle sleeve shaping and 2×2 ribbed hem and cuffs.
  • The boat neckline is left without an added band for a soft, lightly rolled edge.
  • Fine brushed lace-weight mohair held double. A single strand of a fluffy DK mohair or alpaca blend may be substituted if it meets gauge.
  • Main needles: 8 mm / US 11. Ribbing needles: 6.5 mm / US 10½.
  • Gauge: 12.5 stitches and 17 rows = 10 cm / approximately 4 in in stockinette after blocking.
